Yesterday I put my business on hold to organize a fundraiser for the current refugee crisis across Europe, along with other emergencies worldwide. After the devastating pictures and footage I just knew that I couldn’t go on with my work week and living the life that I am so grateful for without helping those who need our support in at least some small way. I know that the problems can feel so overwhelmingly big and we can feel so insignificantly small, but when we come together to show our support, we can contribute precious dollars that help international agencies to provide practical aid and assistance.
So that said, I am holding a movie fundraiser for the soon to be released PAN, which is the origin story of Peter Pan and Captain Hook, at the Kino Cinemas on Collins Street, Melbourne on Sunday 27th September from 9.30am. All profits will be directly donated to A4UNHCR, Australians supporting the UN Refugee Agency, who are dedicated to providing life changing humanitarian support to refugees, displaced and stateless people.
Tickets are only $21 and include entry to the movie, morning tea and a sweet little treat from me to say thank you. I have the aim of selling 100 tickets and yesterday after my initial announcement I sold 17 but I need your help to sell more! If you can come along, bring your kids, bring your neighbours kids, bring your parents or bring your friends, please hop on over to http://pan-event-head-fundraiser.eventbrite.com.au and get involved! The link is also in my profile so please share widely and I hope to see you there xx PS If you can't make it you can still donate through the link, thank you!
